New Year's News

Wendy is at the moment attending a three day wedding in India!  The groom is Indian but has accepted a position at MIT.  His wife is French and a colleague of Wendy's.  Wendy and Michel have been sent a video in order to practice the dances performed by guests at the wedding.  Wendy must not wear red, white or black.  After the wedding,  the two of them are taking a week's vacation at a nearby resort in the Maldives.

Jane is in Hawaii, presenting at a Special Education conference there.  She is enjoying a respite from the cold Canadian winter.  She has plans to do some serious fiction writing in a year or so when she retires from the college where she teaches.  She sent me a manuscript called Wisteria's Journal about an elderly lady who kept a voluminous diary bequeathed to the narrator.  The story is a distillation of her life, which I enjoyed reading.

Heather and Todd are fixing up their house in Yuba City with the idea of moving when Todd retires from teaching in a year or so.  Where will they move to?

Brianne is inspired by her little son to draw wonderful black and white pictures of marine creatures, and because Maddox is very taken with
the animal, she has dome a spirited drawing of a reindeer for him.

She has started a new class, French, which requires her to talk to a French person once a day.  Anyone interested?

Ian is home from his mission in the waters off San Diego, and baby Genevieve is growing fast.  After Christmas the two Washington Chambers family got together. Maddox was wondering what happened to his cousin's hair?

Alex has one more year at MIT when he will receive a Master's Degree in architecture.  Matthew will graduate from Olin with a bachelor's Degree in Engineering this spring.  He has accepted a job with Skydio, a drone company, and will move to San Francisco in the fall.

Valerie is learning to play the ukulele, sort of.  We have a gig next Wednesday at one of the Socials, playing and singing songs that only require three chords!  The uke classes begin again next week.  Perhaps we will master some more chords?

So Happy New Year to you all, and have a wonderful 2019.
