News from Wendy

Wendy has been sending text messages and pictures.   She and Michel attended a wedding in Pondicherry.  The groom is Indian but will teach at MIT.  The bride is French.  The ceremony lasted three days.  Wendy and Michel were required to learn traditional dances, and Wendy to have her hands decorated with henna.  The guests should not wear red, white or black, so Wendy bought a blue sari for the occasion.





After the wedding they went to the Maldives.  It took a full day to get there.  It took about three hours to drive to the airport at Chennai, then a flight to Sri Lanka, and from there to the Maldives.  Not done yet, from there a boat trip to their island resort. This is a view from their window.  The resort takes up the whole island, and is really beautiful.  Rain was forecast, but we hope it is sunny most of the time.  Have fun, guys!
