On May 22, 1954 Robin and I were married in Divinity Hall, McGill. We had met on October 28, 1950 in Kingston, Ontario so we always celebrated both anniversaries.
Tomorrow Trevor and I are going to a place near Las Vegas. He will take a private class at Front Sight, a range and training center for all sorts of firearms. I took a four day class there a couple of years ago with Robin in hand gun use and safety. I will goof off. while Trev takes the class.
I got a blog comment from Tracy yesterday, and hope to get more as you become familiar with the format. Trevor and I booked our flights to Vancouver and the shuttle to Whistler yesterday, and confirmed that the hotel rooms will be ready for us. It is important to know that you are reading this, because it a way of communicating with you all at once, without innumerable back-and-forth emails,
Don't forget to send Trevor a baby picture of yourself (under 1 year old), and a current picture which he will, if necessary convert to black and white. I will post them at the Reunion and you will guess who goes with which baby picture. Prizes for the winners!
Daisy reported one of the koi fish died. Since Ian is away, she is having to cope with everything by herself. But she is a strong lady.
Love to you all, Val
I'm taking private classes at Front Sight (Pahrump, Nv)in Shotgun, once I DG shotgun (Distinguished Graduate - shoot at 90% or better on the final test), that open me up to more advanced classes. I've DG'd both Pistol and Rifle in the past. So this will put me at the top in skills with firearms.
ReplyDeleteThe normal classes have 40 people in them (and are very slow) the advanced classes have 10 to 12 people (who are all very skilled). Then my membership allows me to take private classes with just me and one other. This will be my 20th class at Front Sight, and my first private. It will be interesting.
The weather is forecast to be in the high 90's (which I love!!!).
I'm taking the Tesla on her first road trip with me in charge (Pun intended). I think I've figured out all the places to charge her up. It should be fun. Barstow to Pahrump is 147 miles. I can get a full charge in Barstow. I have a range of about 230 miles on one charge, so I think I'm good. Will post of the adventure when i return.

Happy Anniversary dear Aunt Val... just figuring this out now... Sorry to have been out of the loop - been busy at work and I was away for a bit... back now!
ReplyDeleteWe've been thinking about you all lots and I do think this blog will be a great way to be in touch about details.
Big hugs and lots of love all round, Jane
Also wanted to let you know we roasted hot dogs and smokies on a campfire yesterday to celebrate Victoria Day long weekend... we've been kayaking a bunch and really enjoying the sunshine... finally it feels like summer might be a possibility.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of flooding in our area and the lake level is very high.
All good...
Can you put in some details as to check in time and check out? Looks like Todd and I will drive up to Washington, pick up Bri, Daisy, and kids then current plan is to take two cars over the border. Ian and Mack travel still being worked out. It would be nice if they get to Washington/Vancouver at same time. Alternate might be minimal luggage and all in one car leaving Ian's car for him, Mack and remainder of luggage. Our car holds 7, but luggage area would be small and baby stuff would fill a good part.
ReplyDeletegetting so exciting!!!
DeleteI did not reply to Ian yet... sorry about that, it's been really busy here with end of year conferences, articulation and workshops and practicum students - aaargh... however our vehicles and Duncan and Tracey's would also be full coming from the interior... so I'm afraid we're not much help with the pick up of Daisy and Kids.
I understand there is a shuttle from Vancouver to Whistler... not sure if that would help once Ian arrives...
Eager to get planning a little more as we move towards the date...
It's a windy Wednesday as I look out at the lake, however we are really enjoying the sunshine from the past few days.
Thinking of you all!
Jane
Jane we got a ride,Todd will drive us 3,and Heather will drive Bri and Maddox.Thank you though.I'll bring one or two suitcases either one big or two smaller. We looked at the train but getting to the train is a 30 minute ride, then 2 hours of train,2-3 hour waiting for bus,2 plus hour bus ride,it just wasn't doable with the kids.Anyway We got it sorted out and cannot wait to see you all
