They advertise some exhilarating options. Salton Sea and Saint Andreas Fault Experience....Getty Villa... NASA Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena...Parade of Lights Cruise in San Diego Bay...Master Chorale at Disney Hall...Infinity Mirror Exhibition...Yuletide at Yosemite...two day Rose Parade experience, go the day before and watch the floats being decorated, then listen to a Big Band concert and get up early to watch the parade. Fabulous!!
Then the cleaning lady, who comes every second week, cleaned my little villa from stem to stern. Then I Ieft for the Garden Villa neighborhood party and brought my 'treasure' to share. The theme of the party is bring something that is of great sentimental value to you and talk about it. I brought my mug from 234E the Bluff Road in Yokohama, and told the story of how I got to connect with the house I lived in just before I left Japan. A gentleman sitting next to me had been stationed in Japan, could speak fairly fluent Japanese and was married to a Japanese wife. We were instant friends!
There gets to be an embarrassment of riches. What do you choose to do? You can't do it all. Today the beach walk. Later a mixer for newcomers. I will report tomorrow.

The Superkid is standing all by himself! Not yet seven months.
Love the picture of Maddox. Such a happy baby. He, parents, and uncle are driving right now and due in at perhaps 2 am. Not sure how long they'll stay, before continuing south. Mack arrived yesterday and of course is enthusiastically trying to make us more techie. Seems a server in our house died. Parts can be reused, but he wants us to have a wonderful, new, secure with backups, system. Plans to configure it in San Diego, then have it transported north with his brother when they visit. So many eggs in the air, hope none drop. Wish us luck with our dog and Bri's dog.... both are rescue dogs who have quirks. They have met each other just after Bri acquired hers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful life you lead Val and so happy to hear about it...
ReplyDeleteALso glad to hear about your doings Heather...

Off to Cranbrook to visit with grandkids for a few days - Duncan and Tracey are on deck with M&D... all's well.Mum actually made cookies yesterday!
Happy days all round:)
And love to you all!

Glad to hear! Mack made cookies too so that Bri would come into a house with the freshly baked cookie smell. A gallon sized bag of cookies went south with them. No snow here, just rain.
DeleteThey arrived safely, then left with baby clothes and snacks, leaving their pup to be dogsat. Is that a word? You can see traces of the newborn, but he's chubby now and has so much more control of himself. Seeing him sit and pat your face and feel the increased weight as you hold him.... I am so glad Bri sends lots of pix and videos, but it was wonderful to see, hear (not pleased about car), and hold him all too briefly. Worth babysitting the little dog. Well worth it.
